AI in ecommerce: where it makes you money.

Shopify has AI built in. Every app in the store now claims to use it. And yet most ecommerce brands we talk to are still writing product descriptions by hand, booking a shoot for every new range and building the same weekly report on a Monday morning.
AI in ecommerce isn't about chatbots or gimmicks. It's about taking the slow, repetitive work off your team so they can spend time on what actually sells.
Where AI makes ecommerce brands money
Product imagery. AI product photography can place your real products in styled lifestyle settings in days, not weeks, for a fraction of the cost of a shoot. Directed properly and checked by a person, it doesn't look like AI.
Product descriptions at scale. First drafts for a whole range, written to your tone and the questions buyers actually ask. A person edits for accuracy.
Email and CRM. Drafting flows, segmenting customers by what they buy, and personalising follow-ups so one order turns into the next.
Reporting. Pulling sales, ad spend and traffic into one place automatically, so Monday's report is waiting for you rather than eating your morning.
Customer service triage. Answering the common questions (delivery, returns, sizing) fast, and passing anything else to a person.

Where it's still a waste of time
AI won't fix positioning. If your store sells the same products as ten others with the same message, AI will just help you produce more of the same, faster. Buyers will still compare on price.
It also won't replace judgement on pricing, buying or brand. Use it for the work around those decisions, not the decisions themselves.
Start with the work that eats the most time
List the tasks your team repeats every week. Put an hour estimate next to each. The top one is usually where AI pays back first, often product content or reporting.
We help ecommerce brands do exactly that, from AI product photography to AI workflow automation. And because we've spent over 10 years in ecommerce, we start with what will make you money, not with the tools. Book a call to find where to start.
